Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a smart and dynamic fresher/junior Test Engineer to join ThinkSeed Systems Pvt. Ltd., a growing startup, focused on developing innovative infotainment and smart access solutions for the automotive industry. As a Test Engineer, you would be authoring and executing test cases for Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto, Multimedia, Connectivity & Secure Access systems on automotive/embedded target platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases and test scripts for automotive systems
- Execute tests on automotive systems, analyze results and report in bug-reporting systems
- Work with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects
- Develop and maintain test environments, test vector, test metrics and test reports
- Participate in release readiness reviews and bug triaging discussions
- Constant improvements in testing efficiency using scripting and automation tools
- Compliance with organization-wide processes and contribute to process improvements
- Perform self-certification to ensure readiness of our software products for certification by Apple/Google/CCC
- Setup target hardware – involves connecting different accessories, harness, power supply, etc – and flash software image or install test binaries/config files as per given instructions
- Travel to customer sites on need basis
- Perform vehicle testing on need basis
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
○ 0 to 2 years of experience in manual & automation testing on embedded/automotive SoC running Linux/Android OS or MCUs with RTOS or bare-metal software
○ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ECE or CSE or a related field
○ Ability to quickly learn technology and product features, and perform validation to ensure world class software product quality
○ Enthusiastic go-getter with a keen eye on details, and a perfectionist with passion for delivering world-class software products
○ Excellent skills in problem-finding, observation, troubleshooting and documentation
○ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
○ Work autonomously as well as part of a larger team interacting with internal & external stakeholders
○ Good understanding of software development life-cycle, software test methodologies, version control systems, issue/project management systems such as JIRA, Bugzilla, etc
○ Willingness to travel to customer sites or for drive test
Good to have:
○ Familiar with Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto or Secure Access systems
○ Strong proficiency in scripting in any one language – Bash, Python, Perl, etc
○ Hands-on experience with Android/AOSP systems – flashing, adb commands, apk installation, etc.
○ Hands-on experience with micro-controllers and evaluation kits for low-level embedded software testing
○ Familiar with AUTOSAR, CAN, Vector tools
