Job Description

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer to join ThinkSeed Systems Pvt. Ltd., a growing startup, focused on developing innovative infotainment and smart access solutions for the automotive industry. As a SE/SSE, you will be responsible for design and development of Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto solutions for both Android and Linux platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Design: Collaborate with architects and system designers, and create detailed design specifications, considering factors such as scalability, performance and portability for Android, and Linux platforms.

  • Development, Code Review and Quality Assurance: Work as individual as well as team contributor, with hands-on coding in C/C++ (and optionally Java), by following the software development cycle processes defined by the organization, which includes developer testing and documentation. Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and compliance with software development best practices. Collaborate with QA engineers to define and execute comprehensive testing strategies.

  • Collaboration and Problem-solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams, HMI/App developers and QA engineers. Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges related to CarPlay / Android Auto integration.

  • Research and Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in CarPlay, Android Auto and connectivity technologies in the automotive industry. Explore and propose innovative solutions to create/enhance products and their business case.

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

◦ 1 to 4 years of experience as embedded systems middleware developer in Linux/Android OS and preferably in Automotive domain

◦ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ECE or CSE or a related field

◦ Strong proficiency in programming in C/C++, and optionally Java, with OOPS expertise

◦ Strong in Computer Science fundamentals and hands-on with multi-threaded programming and IPC concepts

◦ Good understanding of software development methodologies, version control systems, issue/project management systems and (CI/CD) pipelines

◦ Go-getter with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a passion for delivering high-quality software products

◦ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. 

 

Mandatory (at least one):

◦ Expertise in stack/middleware development on Linux or Android

◦ Hands-on experience in AOSP or Connectivity/Multimedia on Android

 

Good to have:

◦ Well-versed with Android Services, AIDLs, JNI, life-cycle of Service/Activity

◦ Experience with AOSP or Android NDK based programming
